So, what are M&A Models

A Mergers & Acquisitions model template (M&A) is an analysis of the combination of two companies that come together through a defined process. A merger is the “combination” of two companies, under a mutual agreement, to form a consolidated entity. An acquisition occurs when one company proposes to offer cash or its shares to acquire another company.

In both cases, both companies merge to form one company, subject to the approval of the shareholders of both companies.

Attention must be paid to whether acquirers pay an acquisition (or control) premium above the target company’s share price, assess what the potential value creation is driven by, and analyse potential synergies.

What do you get?

This template will give the users the ability to conduct a full end-to-end M&A modelling process as practitioners and includes fundamental learnings, tips, and guides. The model can process all four merger types:

  • Horizontal - a merger between companies with similar products.
  • Vertical - a merger that consolidates the supply line of a product.
  • Concentric - a merger between companies that have similar audiences with different products.
  • Conglomerate - a merger between companies that offer diverse products/services. Lessening the probability of resource downtime or total failure.

Why is this in Excel?

Our DNA is in developing solutions through Microsoft Excel. You see to most people Excel is simply a spreadsheet, used mainly for doing financial calculations. However, in reality, Excel is much more....... Excel is actually a fully-fledged RAD (Rapid Application Developer), yes application. It means on the right hand Excel can be used to create complex, dynamic applications.

We make solutions in Excel because at the end of the day, over 1 billion people already have Excel installed on their devices, and also, it's just about the most flexible application out there. This means when you buy our solutions, you not only get to use them, but you can customise them to pieces because we also give you the coding and logic base. You can eventually learn, adapt, and create your own solutions.

Not to mention all our solutions are priced well below any bespoke applications, but that does not mean you lose functionality, in most cases you gain. In many cases many of our tools are unique and there are no alternative bespoke applications, let alone at that price.
